Getting ready for the 2016 Birch Syrup Season

We are in the process of setting things up for the 2016 season. We have a very positive feeling for this year to beat our numbers from the 2015 production.

2015 was an exceptional year for us, using new methods to increase production, and they worked. The final results for 2015 were:

  • Collected 63,125 litres of Birch Sap and produced 505 liters of Birch Syrup.
  • Our records show that we still need on average 125 liters of Birch sap to produce 1 liter of Birch Syrup.
  • In 2014 we produced 245 liters of Birch Syrup.
  • The new methods that were introduced in 2015 gave us a 206% increase in Birch Syrup.

For the 2016 production, we have developed other new methods to implement and we hope this will increase our production even further. Wish us luck and once we are back from Camp further updates will follow.

As We Say - Happy Tapping!!
